Animation

From toys and monsters to courtroom reenactments and architectural presentations, our dedicated professional instructors are enthusiastically waiting to help you bring your art to life using industry software and technology. The world of animation is more than blockbuster motion pictures. Television, medicine, education, science, legal, and corporate America are in need of talented and creative people who know how to combine art and technology to effectively communicate and entertain their audience. Part acting, part storytelling, and part visual art - animation is a mix of both electronic arts and traditional animation skills.

Classes are built on a solid foundation of the competencies you need to have for graduation such as anatomy, modeling, life drawing and perspective, 2-D and 3-D animation, scripting, storyboarding, acting, character design, and texturing. You'll use industry-related software such as Adobe® Photoshop, Adobe® AfterEffects, Procreatetm, Paintertm, Macromedia® Flash MX, 3ds Max®, and Maya®. You'll also learn business practices, marketing, and promotion; and have an opportunity to further enhance your education through internships and meeting guests from major animation houses such as Industrial Light + Magic (ILM) and Disney.

Animation Degree

At graduation, your demo reel will show a prospective employer that you are ready to seek an entry-level position in the film and television industry, animating commercials, and post production as a digital artist, special effects artist, texture mapper, or storyboard artist.
